English & Language Arts

The J.C. Booth Middle School language arts program is aligned with the Georgia Performance Standards--ELA.  Our curriculum is built around generating positive experiences to help all students develop on intellectual and social levels.  Students will focus on lessons addressing the following: reading, writing, grammar conventions, listening, speaking and viewing.  Students will work with a variety of texts including short stories, novels, plays, and poetry.

Through all of our instruction, it is the English department’s goal to develop our students into critical, creative, and independent learners.  Students will have numerous opportunities to build upon these skills through class instruction, small group activities, group projects, and visual/oral presentations. Teachers will collaborate with other teachers to ensure a more complete and dynamic educational experience.
