    Important Links:

Ebooks available at Braelinn Elementary School

    FollettShelf

    • Available to download to a mobile device for reading without WiFi or 3G/4G data connection. Students can take notes and highlight
    • Limitations: not all titles are unlimited for reading; if the ‘copy’ is checked out, the patron cannot read it until it is turned in.

    Follet Ebooks

    • Students now have access to over 380 electronic books that can be checked out remotely. Students will need to go the Destiny website from any web browser: http://fcboe.follettdestiny.com. Under the catalog tab, you will find and click on FollettShelf.
    • Logging in: Students will have to log in to FollettShelf.  The username is: the student’s Infinite Campus # and the password is: the first two initials of the last name (the first is capitalized) followed by the child’s 8 digit birthday in mmddyyyy format. For example, Sally Smith’s username is 199998 and password is: Sm05062005. This the same log in combination used by students for Reading Counts at school, and the students should have a label inside the front cover of his or her agenda to reference.
    • These ebooks can be read directly on the computer, OR you can download a free APP on your mobile device called: Follett Enlight. This APP will allow you to download the book to your device so that it can be read while offline.
    • If you are prompted for a web code for Braelinn, the url is: wbb41419. (This code is mainly when using the Follett Enlight App.)
    • Students may check out one ebook at a time.
    • Teachers will log in using their FCBOE username/password

    Searching:

    • Books that Braelinn currently owns can be read by only one person at a time.  If someone is reading the book, the title will display an “IN USE” banner at the top.
    • Students will search for books as usual.  If the book is checked out, the title will have an “OUT” banner at the top.
    • To find out more information about a title, click on the ‘i’ in the lower right corner.

Reading titles and checking them out:

    • The student can read the book in “live” time without “checking it out.” However, when he or she logs out or has 30 minutes of inactivity, the book will go back on the shelf (the window will close).
    • When the title is checked out, the student will have the book for 2 weeks. At the end of the two weeks, the book will be checked back in automatically. The title is stored in the BOOKBAG in the upper right corner.
    • If the student finishes the book early, he or she can return the book early from the bookbag. Students are encouraged to do this so that others can share the book, too!

    Reading Devices:

    • Students can read from any desktop computer while logged into Follett Shelf.
    • For mobile devices, one can download the Follett Enlight app. You will be prompted for the school url: wbb41419

The Library Media Center (LMC) is an integral and indispensable component of the school and the curriculum, and the facilities that make up this center are critical. The LMC is no longer a room simply housing the instruction materials of a school. It is the center from which there is a constant flow of materials, equipment, services, and learning experiences to various areas, students, faculty, and staff of the school.

The Library Media Center Staff is composed of one media specialist and one media paraprofessional. The media specialist works to develop, administer, and implement a media program that reflects and supports the educational goals and objectives of the school. She is a professional educator and librarian who is a key person in the overall program of the school. The media paraprofessional assists with implementing the daily routine of the media program. She is indispensable.

The Braelinn Elementary School Library Media Center has a collection that includes over 17,000 resource items available to support curricular instruction. Our primary objective is to support the curriculum by encouraging the access, evaluation, and use of materials in varied formats to help students become better learners, readers, and citizens. Our school library media center aims to be the central core of instruction and reading through the development of activities that are an extension of classroom work.
