FCHS Welcomes Class of 2020 at Freshman Induction Ceremony
On October 19, 2016, Fayette County High School hosted its first Freshman Induction Ceremony to officially welcome all ninth grade students into the Tiger Family. The theme for the ceremony was, "Going for the Gold," and guest speaker was Pastor BaSean Jackson of Fellowship of Love Church in Fayette County. The ninth grade class officers welcomed students and guests, discussed the purpose of the occasion, introduced the guest speaker and provided the speaker with a class gift. Also, a ninth grade soloist and two clarinet players performed during the ceremony. All ninth grade participants recited a pledge that was created by a student in the class of 2016. Mr. Sam Sweat, Director of Special Projects for Fayette County Schools, provided congratulatory remarks to the class and Principal, Dr. Lane gave closing remarks. The ceremony was a huge success and parents, students, and ninth grade homeroom teachers all celebrated the induction with a reception following the event. A huge thank you goes out to all staff members and volunteers who helped make this event a memorable one for the class of 2020!
