Application for 2008-09 School Year
(Approval Based on Space Availability)

New fee schedule for the 2008-09 school year is posted below.  Please check back or call the ASP office at 770-460-3990, x. 244 with questions:

Annual Registration Fee: $50
Due prior to attending; 1st week’s fees must be submitted to ASP by end of  “Open House” in August.

Prepaid 1st Wk Reserve Fee: $50
Must submit completed envelope with payment directly to ASP by Friday prior to attending.

Reserve Fee (weekly): $50
Must submitted in a completed envelope with payment directly to ASP by Friday prior to attending.

Non-reserve Fee (weekly): $75
Applies when payment is not submitted directly to ASP by Friday prior to attending.

Reserve Extracurricular: $10
ONLY applicable for registered students on days attending ARM and/or school sponsored club when space is reserved by submitting completed envelope with payment directly to ASP by Friday prior to attending.  If not reserved, emergency rates apply as stated below.

Weekly Hold Fee: $25
Will hold student’s slot when not attending for a week.

The following fees apply in case of unforeseen emergencies:

Emergency - 1st: $20
$5/hour up to $20 (rate applies 1 day 1 time only)  

Emergency - 2nd: $50
Covers 1 day; application must be completed at pick up.  Must check for space availability.

Emergency - 3rd & up: $75
Non-reserve fee; covers days in same week only (no “carryovers”).  Must check for space availability.

The Fayette County School System’s After School Program (ASP) is a self-supporting program that does not receive state or local funds for its operation. The program is completely funded through paid tuition.

In order to have the funds needed to continue to operate the ASP, tuition will be charged on a weekly basis beginning August 1, 2008. Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to accommodate families seeking a daily rate for a few days per week.

Not knowing our exact daily attendance has caused us to over-staff and/or move staff daily to avoid exceeding the required ratio of one adult to 15 children, a minimum to meet national standards for quality. The revenue from the fees of non-weekly attendees has not been enough to offset the overall costs of the extra staff.

Although we understand that the daily rate option was a convenience our parents appreciated, we have no choice but to eliminate this option so that we can continue to offer our quality After School Program.  We believe the weekly fee schedule will ultimately provide children with better after school programming through:

• Closer supervision due to appropriate ratios from day to day;

• More consistency (same staff supervising same children throughout week rather than staff moving from site to site);

• Increased retention of trained staff (able to set hours at same site thus offering a more stable income).

We appreciate the support of our parents as we make this transition.
