Mission |
|
To establish and support one-on-one,
long-term relationships between positive community role models and Fayette
County school students to assist youths in dealing with the complexities of
school, home and community.

Friends
Mentor Program |
|
Friends Mentoring is an opportunity for adult volunteers to make a
positive impact on the life of a child. Mentors meet weekly
one-on-one with their students in a school based setting. The program focuses on assisting
children in developing relationship skills, building positive life skills,
and improving academic proficiencies.
Volunteers must: Successfully
complete criminal records check*
Attend orientation training
Commit to volunteer
one hour a week for at least one school year

Literacy
Friends Program for Children |
|
Literacy Friends
is a program designed to match caring adults with elementary age children in
need of extra reading support and encourages children to become confident
and independent readers. Matches meet at school site weekly.
Volunteers must:
Successfully complete
criminal records check*
Successfully complete downloadable application
and submit Page 1 to Program Manager
Attend orientation training
Commit to volunteer one hour per week
for at least one school year
