Earning superior ratings all around, the Starr’s Mill High Panther Pride Marching Band dominated the 21st annual Golden River Marching Festival in Tallapoosa, Georgia, bringing home some of the festival’s top awards.
The band won Class AA and the Silver Division with a score of 95.17, the highest score out of the 18 bands competing against them. The Panther Pride Marching Band was the clear front-runner, winning the class championship by 5.17 points and the Silver Division, a combination of Class A, AA and AAA, by 2.5 points.
The percussion also had a major victory at the competition, winning Class AA and the Silver Division, as well as tying for first place overall, with their score of 96. They won their class and division by 7.5 points. They also received the Best Pit Ensemble award in the Silver Division.
