Students March in America’s Largest Thanksgiving/Christmas Parades

Students from Starr’s Mill High and Sandy Creek High have been selected to perform in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band during the 90th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on November 24. Starr’s Mill Panther Pride Marching Band members Ryan Bohdan, a senior baritone section leader, will be marching in the parade for a second year, and fellow sophomore baritone soloist Camber Bransky will have her first experience marching in the parade. Sandy Creek High Marching Patriots member Kilian Vidourek, a senior mellophone player, will join them in the parade, which is comprised of select students from across the United States. They will perform at Macy’s Herald Square for celebrity hosts, a grandstand audience, and more than 50 million television viewers watching live on NBC.

 

The Fayette County Marching Tiger Band is one of 17 bands across the nation selected to perform in the 85th annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, the largest Christmas celebration in America. The live parade takes place on Hollywood Boulevard on November 27 (the Sunday after Thanksgiving) and will be taped for network television. It will premiere as a two-hour special on the CW Network on December 16 at 8 p.m., and repeating on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel with airdates to be announced. The parade will also air to one million American servicemen and women worldwide on American Forces Network.
